Introducing: Chromatic River Walk by Kitty Joseph
Kitty is thrilled to announce the launch of Chromatic River Walk, her brand new installation at Greenwich Peninsula for Summer 2024.
Celebrating and honouring the ever-changing landscape of the Greenwich riverside and view of the Thames, Kitty's installation encompasses the Thames Pathway and The Tide Square area of the Peninsula.
The installation draws inspiration from the ever-changing shift in light and colour in this unique part of the river Thames. Kitty has carefully considered the materials throughout, from the 100% recycled finely woven organza fabric, the recycled reflective vinyl elements, and bamboo flag poles. Ensuring that ethics are equally inline with aesthetics..

"It was a joy to translate my work with colour in fashion to a whole new scale, dressing the architecture of the riverside with uplifting, therapeutic hues. I’ve always loved the Thames. Its been a source of inspiration for my drawing and design practice for many years. To display my prints among the source of their inspiration feels like a full circle moment. I hope the installation offers a soothing moment of colour and uplift in people’s journey along the river." - Kitty Joseph
Utilising Kitty's skill of dressing the body and adapting it to a space, Chromatic River Walk features prismatic fabrics, dynamic shapes and reflective surfaces to represent the natural elements.
Another area of exploration for Kitty was The Canopies on the Thames Pathway which have been given a makeover using different lengths of organza fabric 'Colour Clouds', adding an area of ambiance and calm in the bustling district of North Greenwich.
Deck chairs, inspired by the gradient print will be peppered around the Tide Square area, offering visitors a chance to relax in and enjoy their summer in style..
Kitty Joseph's Chromatic River Walk launches on 18 July and is free to visit. Running until late September 2024.
