After the ear we’ve had, we felt it was time to bring some much-needed colour and joy into the world. Our CHROMATICS fashion showcase, in response to Liz West’s installation at The Tide in Peninsula Square, was an effort to do just that. The event, which took place on Saturday the 29th of May 2021, was a celebration of colour, community, and creativity. On the day, we were lucky enough to be joined by wonderful guests such as Katherine Ryan who was absolutely glowing in our CHROMA DRESS (left), as well as design icon Zandra Rhodes, and artist Andrew Logan.

As our ten-year anniversary approaches at KITTY JOSEPH, the show was an opportunity to reflect, while also looking forward to what the future holds for the brand. This idea inspired us to dig deep in our archive cupboard, and revisit some of our favourite prints and shapes from the last ten years and sit them alongside our new ten-year anniversary print: CHROMOLOGY, printed on our most ecologically responsible fabric to date – Tencel. Pieces from the show included the SOLIS DRESS, part of our current collection (left), the OMBRE SWATCH DRESS (right), alongside our archive HALOS DRESS, and our new CHROMOLOGY designs (centre).

Taking place amongst the prismatic beauty of artist Liz West’s installation, ‘Hundreds and Thousands’, the show was a celebration of pure and bold optimistic colour. The installation, wrapping 700 metres of the glass walkway, is described by the Greenwich Peninsula as “a ribbon of undulating colour”. We couldn’t have imagined a more beautiful setting for our show.

Some wonderful coverage from the day included a feature on ‘The best photos from around the world’ by the Sydney Morning Herald. The Daily Mail described Katherine Ryan as ‘radiant’ as she attended the event in Peninsula Square with her husband and stylist, Jennifer Michalski Bray. Other features in print included the ‘True Colours’ piece in the Sunday Telegraph newspaper on the 30th of May 2021.

We look forward to creating more unique events with our colour community as we move through 2021 and beyond. Watch this space or subscribe to our mailing list to be the first in the know!
